HOW GOD CALLED HOME A GALLANT CHURCH OF PENTECOST LEADER

On Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, Apostle Dr. Michael Kwabena Ntumy, the fourth Chairman of The Church Of Pentecost, passed away in the early morning at his home in Germany. He had been serving as the National Head of The Church Of Pentecost, succeeding Apostle Dr. E.O Bediako, amidst a prolonged illness.

Throughout his life, Apostle Dr. Ntumy faced and overcame various challenges. He survived being held hostage during the Liberian Civil War in the 1990s and endured three attacks on his life, including physical assaults, poisoning, and paralysis. Despite these hardships, he remained committed to serving the church and even continued his service after retiring in 2023.

Apostle Dr. Ntumy, who served as the church's chairman for ten years from 1998 to 2008, faced physical limitations after a surgical operation on his cervical spine in February 2009. Despite being confined to an electric wheelchair, he remained dedicated to the church until his retirement.

Before entering full-time ministry with the Church of Pentecost at the age of 26, Michael Ntumy worked as a teacher in Yendi in the 1980s. He married Martha Ntumy at the age of 24. Over the years, he rose through the ranks, becoming a Deacon and Elder. At 33, he was called to the office of an Apostle and, six years later, was elected as the fourth Chairman of The Church of Pentecost. He served two terms, totaling ten years, before passing the leadership to Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah.

Apostle Dr. Ntumy, born on September 22, 1958, in Dadieso, Oti Region, Ghana, leaves behind his wife and six children. The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, officially announced his passing.

In addition to his leadership role, Apostle Dr. Ntumy was an award-winning author, impacting many lives through his books. His contributions to the church and his sacrificial life have set a remarkable standard for all Christians. May this blessed soldier of Christ rest in peace.
